Lime green's a great color!

Today Jax sports a lime green cast. They left his foot out so he didn't get a pressure sore on his heal. One was already started to form from the splint. No doc seems that concerned that he fractured his femur so easily, without us even knowing how. They all say it happens on non weight-bearing kids. I'm not satisfied with that answer. I knew he was more susceptible, but not even knowing how he got it, thats crazy. I'm hoping his pain will get better now with a more supportive cast. I also wonder if part of the pain was the sore forming on his heal. I hate it because he doesn't even like to be held. I held him in my recliner last night, and he just got squirmy and fussy, so I put him back on the floor. It sucks when you can't even comfort your own baby!
I got a new camera for Christmas, and I'm not impressed with the quality. Its supposed to be such a nice small camera, 12 megapixels, but the pictures seem fuzzy to me. What do you think?

Ok Denise, here's your pic of Arina in her matching Ella outfit. Its a bit big, but we just roll up the sleeves!
I was trying new things with her hair yesterday. Its growing so fast! I think it looks pretty good for a baby that doesn't sit still, with short hair, and a mama that hasn't done girl hair in 13 years!

I am so sorry that Jax continues to be fussy and uncomfortable :( Sweet little guy.Hoping that things turn the corner and you can get back to snuggling with him soon.

Arina's hair looks darling! You did a great job. After 4 girls i still can't mangae to do hair.Even the boys with their crazy curly hair, challenges me!

I cannot believe that child is standing! What fun.Seriously what crack up to see her vertical and after seeing her in person,I know just how tiny she is ... the pictures don't do her stature justice ... she must look like a doll.Literally.

LOVE Arina's hair...great job!! She is just too adorable!

I hope Jaxson's cast helps him heal quickly! Poor guy! I don't know if this will make you feel any better, but our oldest broke his femur (right in half!) when he was 2 years old. He was healthy as can be, and he was just walking across his grandma's yard when it happened. Some things are just really freaky like that.

But, Jax sure didn't need this to happen to him...he's been through enough already! Hope the cast helps to make him more comfortable! I hate to think of him in pain and it stinks when you can't comfort your own child! Love and Big Hugs!!!

Oh, and the picture is a little fuzzy to me too. :(

When Morgan broke her tibia many years ago she was in so much pain and it was totally from her splint. She had a huge ulcer on her heel. Doctors really need to learn how to pad those things better or just got directly with a cast. I bet he'll be feeling better now. I know Morgan was so much happier once she got that splint off. I think it was causing more pain than the fracture!

I just wanted to say that my 6 year old daughter has a spinal cord injury and also has Osteoporosis. She has had 2 different fractures in her leg, and we had no idea how she got the first one (the second occurred during PT). She is watched closely by a doc specializing in Osteogenesis Imperfecta, and he has told us that the most susceptible area is in her femur right above her knee. It's frustrating and difficult to know your child has to deal with yet another issue. We hope Jax recovers quickly!

Arina is absolutely adorable, and we're thrilled to be able to follow her story along with Jax's. Thank you for taking the time to share your family.

Arina's hair is adorable! (and it looks like there was a smudge on your camera lens?)

I think her hair looks great! I have no clue how to do girls hair so I am extremely jealous. Poor Sweet Pea doesn't have a chance at having cute hairdo with me as her mommy!

Glad Jax has the new cast and hopefully it will help with his pain.

VERY CUTE! I need to do more to Addy's hair, it's so long I just don't have the time in the mornings before work! Maybe I'll practice a little the next few days before I am back at work :(

It's not fair, Jax needs a break but not that kind. I do like the lime green cast and Arina, she just gets cuter in every picture.

Jax's cast looks very cool...but it is still a bummer that he needs it at all. Thanks for getting the picture of Arina in the outfit. Now I only need Sophia's and Dasha's (although her outfit might be too small as I had a hard time finding them by the time I tried to get one for her:(

your pictures kind of look like mine do when one of my kids gets their fingerprints all over the lens. If its clean, then yeah its not very good quality. I hope Jax gets better quick and that he will let you comfort him

Love the lime gree, I had a lime green and a flourescent yellow cast when I broke 2 bones in my leg (at 2 different times).
The first 2 pics do look a bit hazy, not like I'm used to from your pictures, I always admire the quality of your pics and have always wanted to ask you for some tips! I am sure it's just some adjustment thing.
Love love Arina's hair, my you are creative, I must think of doing stuff like that with Saira, don#t know if I'd have the patiece, or if she'd let me!

I think lime green is sooo Jaxs color! I hope he starts to feel better...so sorry he's in pain...
And if the kids are moving while you're trying to snap a pic, that may be why it's not super great quality...what brand is it?
Play around with it and if you're not thrilled I'd take it back...

your kids are so cute!

As for the camera... check the lens, it looks like it might be dirty... if not, I might take it back

Is Jax able to be put in a stander at all to help with his legs

Lacey said...

Yes we do have a stander for Jax. I will be the first to admit that I don't put him in as often as I should. I will definitely be working on that!

While I hate that Jax has a cast, I love the color. I'm a huge fan of green!

I love the matching Ella outfit, and you are way more creative with Arina's hair than I am with Claire's. Most days she just gets a bam-bam pony on the top of her head!
