More surgery for the warrior

Last week I got the call from insurance that Jax VNS surgery had been approved. I was waiting for that phone call so I could move it up sooner. I can't believe how worried I was that they would deny this surgery. I think with what I have to deal with on a daily basis with medical bills, and fighting the insurance, I'm beginning to think they don't pay for anything!
Jax surgery is now scheduled for June 21. I'm excited to see how this works for Jax, but worried about what having surgery does to my little man's body. IV fluid given during and after surgery settles right in his lungs every time. His bowels usually halt, and he doesn't tolerate feeds for a few days. That means more IV fluid, which means more in the lungs. Its a vicious cycle! Plus the infection risk associated with the incision on his neck where he trach ties are. Daddy won't be here for surgery, because we couldn't get it on a Friday, Tuesdays are neurosurgery's OR days. Daddy can't take any more time off after missing a few days last week with pneumonia.

Friday night my little boyfriend Jonah stayed at our house while his mommy and daddy had an anniversary night away. He was an angel! Slept all night Friday night, and came to Carter's baseball games on Saturday where he carried a baseball around all day. Of course my boys love any baby or toddler, so he had plenty of people to keep him busy!

I had to post this pic because it is so funny! Arina has to be wherever her brothers are. She thinks she is just as big as they are!
