Happy Valentines day to everyone! Ray got me a video camera, I thought that was way too much be he reminded me of his very expensive camera he got from Santa!
Jax is having a great day! He has been cranky since coming home, and his ears don't look great so we are now on antibiotics for that. He also hasn't been tolerating feeds to well, but that could be from being sick. His bowels take forever to get back to normal. I've just slowed his feeds way down.
But he's been smiling like crazy today. I'm going to catch it on my new video camera to show you! I've bought a few more girly things, only one more day to wait! Its crazy because we need a crib for her and an infant seat and basically everything! But I don't want to buy any expensive stuff until I know for sure. Thats a lot of money to waste. But when we get the word, we will be running around like crazy to get everything. Its like a first baby all over again!
One bad thing today though. Of all the good, it only takes one bad like this to ruin it all. Libby has failed two attempts at coming off ecmo. They only have about three more days to try, and then they will have to let her go. By Thursday, if they can't get her off, her organs will start to fail and she will start to suffer. I'm looking at ways for me to get down there for a few days, I really want to support my friend. But with a southern California trip just a couple of weeks away, that makes it difficult. And she's about 6 hours from where we will be. We'll see, just keep praying for her, I know first hand that it works!
Happy Valentine's Day to you.
ReplyDeleteoh sweet Libby - and her Mama
ReplyDeletepraying
Happy Valentine's day to you! So happy to hear that Jax is smiling today. Can't wait to see new videos.
ReplyDeleteHey chicky!!! Long time no talk!!! I just got a computer so I feel like I am back in the real world again.
ReplyDeleteWas just catching up on your blog and noticed that you were in the hospital for Human Metapneumo Virus....which ironocially is the exact same thing we are in here for right now!!! ICK ICK ICK
Rhett's been on 4 liters of O2 and has to be down to a liter while sleeping before he can go home and we have been here since Friday. BLECH.
We will be praying for little Libby. And for Jax to continue to recover!!!
Happy Valentines!!!
my heart just dropped. Sweet Libby, sending out prayers. Her poor family, how the hell do you deal with something like this.
ReplyDeleteHow I love that baby face! I'm sorry to hear his getting better has been slow. I hope he gets back to baseline soon.
ReplyDeleteWahoooo on the video camera! I am jealous! :)
I am praying that Libby makes a turn for the better and can be taken of ECMO. I can't even imagine. :(
Happy Valentine's Day to you too! We can't imagine what Libby's parents must be going through right now - we will keep praying - miracles do happen. We watched a baby in NICU on ECMO and talked with his parents the night before they were going to pull him off ECMO - I will never forget that experience - heart wrenching. My heart aches for families in that situation.......so sad.
ReplyDeleteSending you love and peace to your worried wonderful heart.Libby and her family are lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteJax looks great. Can't wait for video's and news of baby girl!
Glad to hear that Jax is smiling alot!! That must mean that he is finally starting to feel better.
ReplyDeleteSuch sad news abot Libby...but 3 days is a lot of time for a miracle.
Oh God Libby's news has thrown me off, just when I was smiling to myself reading all about the smiles Jax has been giving you, and eagerly waiting to see it on video.
ReplyDeleteI will be praying like mad for Libby...I know if we all pray miracles can happen, I praying for one again.
Happy Valentine's Day! So sad to hear about Libby.
ReplyDeleteIf you need some things spur of the moment, we are officially done with our carseat, as well as a few other misc things... infant tub, front pack... let me know if you want them :)
Happy Valentines to you too! If you do come out here, let me know. We will be leaving on Friday but I would love to see you. I can offer you a floor to sleep on! All our furniture will be packed as of Wednesday evening. We are just down the street from LPCH and Stanford...I think that is where you said little Libby is. Let me know if I can pick you up from the airport or anything else if you actually get to come. Love to you all!
ReplyDeletehappy valentine's day!!! praying for libby and her family!!!

That was supposed to say "What sweet pictures of JAX!" But, I'm sure you knew what I meant! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait to see those smiles on video!!!
ReplyDeleteI also didn't know you were adopting a little girl?! You are, aren't you?? If so, congratulations! When will you get her?
Saying a prayer for little Libby...I know how difficult ECMO can be, my niece was on ECMO for the "limit" of time it is allows before it becomes a risk of organs shutting down, when they took her off no one really knew if you could handle it (she just turned 2 yrs old last month!)I will pray she can come off from ECMO fighting!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home!!! Sorry to read about Libby. We'll be praying. I've been out of sink for the past week. Sickies around here! I can't believe how quickly your adoption process seems to be going. Is it because it's not international? Can't wait to see pic's of your little girl!
