My friends, its been a long couple of days. Tonight I'm going to sit down and get caught up on all of your blogs.
Thursday night was the worst night yet, Friday morning left me beyond exhausted and waving the white flag. Waving with both hands, frantically. I give up, I guess I can't do it all like I think I can. I was in a horrible mood Friday morning, but had to much to do to stop. I was meeting friends for brunch, and I had to take Jax with me. He coughed all morning and I knew brunch with him would be bad. But he actually did ok. Our friend Becky, who's here from New Hampshire. A blog friend we met. Held him and the spoiled boy slept the whole time. Then I had to get home to get the boys from school. Then I had to head up to the hospital to see sweet Preslie, who had just had her tonsils and adnoids removed. She's doing quite well, and hopefully will head home today. Friday night we planned on going to the Festival of trees, (even though we didn't get our tree done) but the place was so packed that we said no way.
I talked to the trach RT on the way to brunch about his coughing and when I suction him, I feel like I'm hitting something, and then he coughs like crazy. She thinks he has scar tissue at the bottom of his trach. So we need to get in immediatly to the ENT. If it gets too bad we go the ER but thats definitely a last resort as I don't want to sit around sick kids.
So I've finally decided that we will do night nursing two nights a week and a day nurse the other two days. At least on the days the night nurse is here I can take a sleep aid and hopefully get a good nights sleep.
Jax actually slept all night last night. I got up once for an alarm, he dropped his sats for a minute, and I still wake up groggy. And this morning I also woke up feeling stuffy and gross. Ugh, I so don't need this during this busy season. Today we are going early to attempt the Festival of Trees. again. We'll see.
Hope you start sleeping better! Getting little sleep is no way to live! Hang in there! Hugs to you and Jax!!!
ReplyDeleteI think that it is a great idea to use the nurse. Getting sleep will make you feel so much better. Hope you have a great time looking at the lights!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope that things get better for you. I think it's great that you are getting the help you need. Sleep girl, sleep!
ReplyDeleteI think the night nurse sounds like a great idea. You need your sleep my friend. I sure hope you feel better soon. Enjoy the Festival if you make it today...
ReplyDeleteGood idea on the night nurse. You have to take care of yourself too and get some much needed rest. We will pray for good sleep and a quick informative trip to the ENT. Enjoy the lights!
ReplyDeletePlease don't try to do it all - as a matter of fact do as little as possible!! Just say no to as much as possible(even the kids) at least until you can get some good sleep and start to feel a little normal again!! I wish I could come out there and help you!! I am so glad you are going with the nurse! Praying for you and for resolution to Jaxson's trach issues.
ReplyDeleteIt was SO good to see you and your sweet boy. Thanks for letting me hold him. :) Hope you get things figured out soon!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're going to use the nursing. It's hard to accept, but once you get used to it you will love it. We are trying to increase our hours now, since Emily appears to have more seizures in her sleep than during the day. I hope you feel better and enjoy the lights!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I am jealous that you got to meet Becky!
Hugs and prayers to you.
ReplyDeleteI hope things go much better soon! Having that sleep will be so good for you, enjoy it! I hope that Jax's issues are minor and no more surgery! Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you're getting in the night nurse might just make all the difference, at least you will be able to sleep without worrying too much and allow yourself to fall into a deeper sleep, if thats possible. Hope it works out well. Hope the thing with the trach isn't too serious and you don't need to go to the ER. Keeping Jax in my prayers
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are going to use the night nursing. Yah then you can get some good sleep. Hope Jaxson is doing well and that everything with the coughing sorts itself out. Take care of yourself and use those sleeps or you will end up like me now..sick at the busiest time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that I am praying for you and Jax, and the rest of your sweet family. I am sorry you are going through all this right now, but rest in His arms and you will be restored.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how busy you are. You are always on the go, woman!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if by chance you could be going down to far when you suction? The only time Parker coughs is when he moves on me and the cath goes down a bit too far.
Some days I have to sit on the kid to get him to stay still long enough to suction him.
How many times a day do you need to suction Jax?
Oh, Lacey, hang in there. I will pray things improve and hope you are able to get him to the ENT right away. I think it will be a great help for you to get a good night's rest. If you don't, it will start making you sick too. At least, that's what happens to me and I don't work outside the home. praying for you,Michelle
ReplyDeleteLacey I am so glad you are getting a night nurse. Take the sleeping aids and please get some long over due sleep. It's OK you know, help is a good thing! Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteLacey, I am so sorry things have been rough..I only know the "basic" baby won't sleep..up every hour stuff and I can't imagine alarms and beeps and constant worry..thinking of you.. and hope you can get some much needed rest sweetie:>)
