Daddy's home!

Me and the boys spent the weekend doing a whole lot of nothin! It felt great!
Saturday we did go to the park with Max. The wind was a bit chilly, but it was nice to be able to go outside finally.
Jax was not digging the sun in his face.

I really wish Jax could interact with other kids. It makes me so sad and really upset when we go to playdates with lots of kids and Jax just lays there while all the other kids play.
Also, we've decided we want to stick with adopting strickly a Down syndrome girl. At first we wanted any special needs child. But we have a special place in our hearts for DS kids. And thats what the boys want. And lately they've been saying they want a baby like Zoey and Ella. Tanner told me he wants a baby that can "talk" like Ella. And when we played with Max, Tanner said he wanted a baby that would "play". Basically what they are saying is they want a baby that does baby things that Jax has never done. Sit up, laugh, play, that kind of stuff. I really want to give that to the boys. We have our home study in for a baby girl with DS that is to be born in June. Thanks to Maureen for sending me the link. They told me it could be about 3 weeks to find out which family gets her. I have no idea how many families are in the running, but I'm extremely nervous. I'm finding that its almost harder to adopt a DS baby than a "normal" baby. It makes me happy that so many people see their potential and want them, but of course its not good for me when I want one too! If this doesn't work out we are seriously considering whether we can make Reeces Rainbow work. There are so many kids that need homes, and its obvious that kids here in the US can easily find homes. I have a sweet girl in mind that I found. I guess she had a home and the family fell through. Little Daria. She would fit perfectly into our family! We'll see, I'm getting my baby girl cravings back again. I was getting into my closet and one of the bows that I bought fell to the floor. I had put all my baby girl stuff in the closet, but seeing that made the girl hunger come back. Pray that this birth family see's that we would be perfect for this baby girl!
And of course if you see any baby girls that need homes, send them on over please!

Daddy came home last night. When we went to pick him up you'd of thought the boy's hadn't seen him in a month! They were so excited!

Max looks like a cutie! And, Jax is adorable sitting there as well!I totally get it when you say how much it hurts to go on playdates and your son can't even play.....this breaks my heart too! We have to get our boys together some day! Have I mentioned that Michigan is a great place to live too?! :)

Glad Daddy is home again! Four hands are definitely better than two!

And, praying the adoption process goes well! If you find 2 girls with DS needing to be adopted, send one my way! :)

Love, Hugs and Prayers!!!

Hey - I just got an email that said they are changing the adoption tax credit so that it can come in the form of a refund - over $13,000 you would get back!

Your girl is out there,it is just a matter of timing.I know,I know, your sick of hearing it but .... it's not our timing.Maybe we are being tested on our virtue of patience.whatever the reason ... she is out there.i know it.

I know your heart gets heavy and sad.So understandable.I can relate on a little different level but nonetheless relate.Next time we talk I'll share with you my sad moment.Till then I want to share with you something that happened today:Headed to swimming lessons with the boys.Alison and her family were there, remember them from the party with Tate from the Ukraine?Well, she mentioned that her family loved all our friends at the party but one stole their hearts... can you guess who?the one and only Jaxson!they are all in love with him and say they pray for him everyday. Is that not the sweetest?

Talk to you soon.oh,and Alison said Andrea in away till I think Wednesday.

Yay for Daddy being home!! And Yay for playdates as well, even though it is sad for you. I think the fresh air, if nothing else, did Jax some good.

I'll be praying for you that you find the right little girl for your family soon.

I don't know if playdates ever get easier, honestly. You've seen my Peanut, and while she can sit and smile and play with toys and stand with my help, she doesn't play with other kids. She doesn't crawl on the grass towards the other kids, even though she does know how to crawl. She doesn't try to "talk" to other kids, or go after balls.

I thought the comparisons would get easier as time went by ... honestly, as she gets older it gets harder. "Typical" 6 years olds do so much - they are true kids, not toddlers. And my Peanut doesn't do those things.

Blah, I know this doesn't help you feel better. LOL I guess I needed to get it out!

Lacey - praying for you and Jaxson as always, but especially that you find a little girl with ds to adopt. We'll keep looking for you - Darya's an angel. I just can't go to RR anymore - it is too difficult for someone who knows they can't adopt(hubby does not want to). Makes me sad.

Your daughter is out there, hang on! When my feelings about Lily got so strong that it consumed my every thought she came. It will work out and it will be a wonderful journey for you. Getting chills thinking about it!

I'm so happy to hear that you are thinking about a baby girl with DS, you guys would be the perfect family for any little baby girl for that matter, I know you will make such a wonderful mommy to this little girl waiting out there for you. I will keep you in my prayers that she comes to you soon. Keep the faith and the belief that this IS going to happen.

The 2nd picture looks like Jax is giving the sun his evil eye. Cracks me up. I'm glad your husband is home. I really hope you get your baby girl. She's out there somewhere or maybe she is waiting to be born so she can become part of her forever family.

I understand what the boys are saying. My 14 year old and I were talking about adopting again and she said she would be all for it IF....the baby was like Joy, but she'd rather not do another one like Bella. I hear ya kid. I understand what you are saying. I so hope y'all get this little one. That would be awesome!

I'm continually amazed (and thrilled!) that there's a waitlist on children with Ds for adoption. Oh, I so wish we could do it, too. Good luck, Lacey! I hope it all comes through for you!
