Power outage

Our power went out this morning about 7:00. We were sound asleep and heard a strange beeping that wasn't a typical beep. It was his concentrator. Then his monitor went off because his sats started to drop. It wasn't as big of a catastrophy as I thought it would be, although it does remind us that we need to buy a generator in case our power is out for a long period of time. We have a child that uses 5 outlets at night. But his feeding pump, monitor, and suction all have battery life so they kept going. but we had to take his humidifier off and put the nose on a portable tank. So crisis averted this time. Whew!!

I'm so excited that our adoption paperwork is moving forward. Background check is being run as we speak! So again, if you know how to set up a raffle on your blog, or have something to contribute to the raffle, please email me at laceyrugg@hotmail.com.

Now for some cute pics of the little man. He wasn't cooperating very well last night, and was giving us some pretty sour faces! Also I noticed a few weeks ago, his left eye is a little more droopy than his right. Its really noticable in these pics. I need to take him to the eye doctor anyway, we'll definitely have this checked out.

I'm glad you got through the power outage with no problems. It was a good experience, to get you prepared! I love the pictures of Jaxson as always. Those cheeks are so smoochable!

I'm catching up on your blog from all my crazy holiday mayhem. I am loving your new page layout and all those great pictures. That is a nice camera. We also just got a Wii this year too so your not the only late one. My poor kids always get the "in" stuff later. And adoption? Good for you! I hope your 2010 year is awesome!

Does your husband's work help pay for any adoption costs? Worth looking in to. I know my husband's will pay $3000. A big help!

Cute close-up pictures of Jax! Look at those kissable cheekers!

A generator is definitely a good investment when you have a child that uses a lot of electricity! We bought one a couple of years ago, just in case. We haven't needed to use it, but it's nice knowing we have it if we ever do need it!

How exciting that the adoption ball is rolling!!! Yay! Hugs!!!

When did you go to the rehab clinic for Jax?

I wonder why Jax ended up with severe HYPOtonia after his stroke and Gavin ended up with severe HYPERtonia??? Strange. I was told that it was rare for Gavin to be so rigid, especially since he has DS and these kiddos are usually too loose. I guess a stroke can affect people differently.

Hope you are getting better sleep! HUGS!!!

Those oxygen concentrator alarms are noisy - we had the power go out on us once too! Glad you made it through the night! I love your new blog design and all your cute pics of Jax! Finally got my UDSF calendar and Ashleigh keeps turning it to Jaxson's page so she can see him! So cute! Love the blankies and the updates!
