Doing good

Jax is doing good tonight. They left him on the vent, I don't know for how long. I haven't heard any plans to take him off tonight. It wasn't near as bad as I thought seeing him for the first time with his new hardware. He does look funny to me with no cannula, his nostrils look huge to me, but it wasn't all that bad. I think the good thing is he was slightly awake when I first went in but he was pretty zoned. Then they gave him morphine and he's been in la la land since. So he doesn't seem to be in pain and he hasn't cried yet.
The blue lines on his chest are the stitches in the trach, they will stay in for 3 days, then they will switch trachs and he'll be ready to go to the floor if he's otherwise stable. We're expecting a week to ten day stay.
Oh, and tomorrow when I get up there I promise to give him kisses from everyone!!

Just checking in again. He looks good with his new "hardware." It is different seeing his face without a cannula. I hope you will be able to see an improvement in his breathing soon. We will of course continue to pray that all will go smoothly with all the teaching that goes along with this new step. Loves and prayers to all of you!

HOORAY! Isn't it SO great to see ALL of his beautiful face? He looks great! No more oxygen on his face. No more sticky's on his cheeks. You will LOVE the fact that he doesn't have to be intubated ANYMORE! It's SO easy just to pop him on the vent.

He looks fantastic........

After his last surgery, the pictures you first put up of him being home.....He didn't look to well.....He looked a little blue......It scared me :0(.......But he truly looks great.....This is by far the best decision.

I pray that he continues to do well and be the championship boxer that he is .....lol

Oh Jaxson I have been worried about you. You look great. I think you are going to like that trach. No more tape on your handsome face:)

I know you have said differently, but one thing I loved about Bella's trach is that I can see her whole face. Sweet Jax - he is a handsome little man! I am so glad he came through alright.

Kiss him for me! And hug yourself.

I am not sure how Arna and Jax will be able to play now, no more taking turns pulling out Os. We will have to teach her not to touch Jax's hardware.
We love you girlie, let me know if I can bring you some Taco Bell for lunch or dinner.
