Blankies anyone?

I have enjoyed making blankets for a few years now. All of my boys have them and there great hospital blankies. I have made some for friends and I would like to make them for kids that have medical problems and are in the hospital a lot. I would like to eventually make it a nation wide thing but I know it will be slow and I'm not quite sure how to get it out there. Maybe make a blog just for that.

If you want a blankie for your child or someone you know with a sick kido post a comment with there sex, age and thier favorite stuff so I know what kind of blankie to make. You can also email me so you can give me your address to ship it to. Its laceyrugg@hotmail.com. There is no cost, its just something special for all the brave kidos out there enduring hospital stays, pokes, and feeling like crap. Here are a couple I've made for Jax

Jax showing the one I'm making for him right now. I crochet around the edges to make them more special. Let me know, I'm dying to make more.

Lacey, you are an angel! I love all the blankies, but the 2nd one is my fav. I don't know a kiddo who needs one right at the moment, but I will keep you posted. I meet lots of brave kiddos who could use some comfort. I admire your ability to crochet. I've made lots of blankies recently for cute kiddos, but I just get fleece and cut/tie the edges.

Oh my gosh, I'm rambling! See why they call me TMI Tara???

I'm so glad you stopped by my blog, so I could meet you and be inspired by your journey with Jaxson. I will definitely be coming back often. Best wishes to you and Jax!!!

Awwww....those are so cute!! Jaxson makes them look even cuter too!!

Rhett is a blankie-a-holic. I have never met a kid that loves blankies more than him. I just made him a huge twin size quilt with monkey's on it for when we move and he sleeps in a big boy bed. But it's not nearly as sweet as yours.

You have a heart of gold, and you're right blankies make kiddos feel better when they just feel like plain ol' crap.

If you wanna make one for Rhett he would love one. Some of his have been through the wringer, and are to the point of being thread bare. BUT, if you get someone else who is actually in the hospital or needs it more please think of them first.

Rhett loves farm animals. Those are his favorite thing right now, and when we go to appointments or are in the hospital we talk about the prints on his blankets to distract him.

I'm not giving you my address in hopes that if you do it that we can get together for me to pick it up. :)

Give Jax a huge hug and kiss from me.

Well,Zoey would be honored to have a blankie and as you know we spend a whole lot of time in the hospital. And lots more to come.I make up her little hospital crib with blankets to make it "feel" like home,as well as the ones she sleeps with and is covered up with.We can always use more.As far as what she likes. That's a guessing game. She,or maybe that's me,is all about pink, so you can't miss with that.Just you taking the time to do this is simply amazing.Aren't your tired hands full enough? But seriously, thank you Lacey. We will cherish it.

They are amazing!
Phoenix would love a blankie. He has one that has gone through everything with him, and I'm not sure how much longer it will hold up.
So far his big interest is WOW WOW WUBBZY and Mickey Mouse Club House.
If you want to e-mail me I can give you my address, I would be more than happy to pay for shipping.

Thanks

What a great idea! You are so thoughtful to do this! The blankies look so soft, warm and comfortable! We always appreciated the blankets that we received when Gavin was in the hospital! What a blessing you will be to others!

I love your idea. I know we talked about it on the phone the other night. Carson would love to have one but I'm willing to pay for S&H and price of materials. He loves trains, race cars, police cars, and tractors. You know, boy stuff.
